Hi guys,
I am thinking about getting some servitors (with servo arms) for my marines army.
But the old metal models are quite expensive.
Are there any alternative minis anyone can recommend?
I was thinking maybe I could convert something from the adeptus mechanicus range?
Or maybe doing some surgery on imperial guard minis with spare necron parts.
Any advice would be appreciated thanks. smile.gif

chaos marauders/blood reavers + necron/robot parts would work better than imp guard due to more skin/leather vibe rather than uniform.

I used some old Space Crusade androids with added parts. (some HB some servo-y arms made from various bits.).

I've used Catachans and a few odds and ends to make them look nice and servitory. I think the advantage of them over other guard models are that they're generally quite bulky, but don't really have too much of a uniform.

A bit of greenstuff to create eye scanners, cables and metal plates does the trick too. Then just go with anything odd that kind of works. One had a Space Marine light for a head. Another had a radar dish.

I like the idea of this. Do you have photos?

I was also thinking maybe IG stormtroopers for the torso, since servitors have roughly equivalent stats T3 4+ armour save, i.e. carapace armour torso.

I do have greenstuff, but my skills are not very good. I have just used it for filling in holes basically.

Is there a decent source of heads with bionic eye / mouth grille etc? I can think of certain marine heads, but would they be out of place on an IG body?

Possibly a head with a construction hard hat could work as well - would make them look like engineers / tradies.

What did you use for servo arms though? I have some spare marine power fists in my bits box, but wasn't sure if would be too big / confusing to play against on the tabletop.

Also for the "normal" (non-servo) arm are there any decent IG arms which are holding equipment or anything like that?
